Beating Insomnia ...

So here's an update on "The Longest Day Ever"... I managed to stay awake nearly 48 hours and after sleeping like a rock for another many hours, I woke up this morning at 4.30. This will be my second day seeing the sunrise... I hope it's the beginning of many more.

I'm going to set my alarm for 2 times during the day: to wake up(7am), but also to go to sleep (11:30pm).

Here are some pics of my run by the waterfront yesterday morning, meant to force me to keep awake.





I ran along lakeshore through the snow, and man is it such a workout! I'm feeling really out of shape, I couldn't run for too long, so my jog turned into a long walk.

I'm going to try to follow this sleep reprogramming with a healthy eating change as well... I'll let you know of my progress, but so far, I'm happy to have reset my internal clock.

Insomnia

It's 2 in the morning... and I'm not even thinking of going to bed yet... I pop in a DVD and watch a movie for the next 2 hours...

4am and the idea of going to bed is coming up.. but first lemme check my email.... and perhaps see the forums on www.TorontoPT.com .... oh .. while I'm at it... I'll read CNN.com ... all of it... and now TorontoStar.com ....

5am I begin to clean up my apartment, organize papers and take care of chores that have been on my checklist for all of 2004.

5:30am My cats are complaining that they can't sleep because I'm making too much noise. Meow to you too.

6am.. I see some activity in the street outside... I hear the neighbours getting up to go to their 8 to 4 jobs...oh hold on, it's Sunday...
I'm on a post Christmas lull from work, dedicating this month to an intense period of school... which starts at 6pm... so I don't have to wake up early.

Ok.. this is ridiculous, it's nearly 7am....I might as welll just stay up all day. By 7.30 I'll give up and collapse.

That's been pretty much my days (and nights) since 2005 started.... I'm coming on here to keep me busy until the sun begins to rise, after which point I won't give up and hit my bed.

I walked out to the balcony, there's a nice calming breeze in the air. It's not really cold, everything's so quiet... I'm gonna try my best to stay up for until sunrise then walk down to the lake and go for a Sunday morning jog and stay up the rest of the day to reprogram my body to go to sleep early and wake up early... common people.. root for me!

... Gonna go make breakfast. Cheerios anybody? ;-)
